Breaking Free Nonprofit

Brand Identity + Squarespace Website Design for a Survivor-Centered Nonprofit Organization

Refreshing an established nonprofit brand required a thoughtful balance between honoring years of community trust and creating a more accessible, modern experience for those seeking support. Breaking Free needed an identity that could evolve its existing equity while communicating hope, dignity, and empowerment around a deeply sensitive subject. The result was a refined brand system and website designed to put survivors first and make resources, programs, and ways to get involved easier to navigate.

A custom brand visual system was developed to give clear visual structure to the organization’s four core pillars, supported by purpose-built iconography, expressive brand patterns symbolizing the journey of breaking free from chains, and inclusive, hope-driven photography that centers dignity and resilience.

Together, these elements work alongside thoughtful messaging and intuitive navigation to communicate the organization’s mission while keeping survivors at the center of every experience.

And the best part? Breaking Free emerged with a stronger, more cohesive brand presence that honors its legacy while supporting future growth—helping survivors, supporters, and community members connect with the organization more easily than ever before.

Meaningful missions deserve thoughtful stewardship—and now the brand reflects exactly that.
